Cookie Policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
The short version
We set nothing when you simply arrive. Open the site, read it, leave again, and not a single cookie is stored. Things only get saved once you do something that needs remembering — adding to your cart, starting a chat, or answering the cookie banner.
Google Analytics 4 and Meta Pixel set cookies of their own, and they only run after you allow the category they belong to. Reject them, or ignore the banner, and none of them are loaded. Everything on the site works the same either way.
What we set ourselves
All of these are functional — they make something work. None of them track you across other sites.
| Name | What it does | Set when | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
mmc-chatcookie | Keeps your chat conversation attached to your browser, so it is still there if you reload the page. It holds a random identifier and nothing about you. | Only when you send your first chat message | 1 year |
mmc-cartbrowser storage | Remembers what is in your cart until you place the order. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us before checkout. | When you add something to your cart | Until you clear your browser data |
mmc-consentbrowser storage | Remembers which categories of cookies you allowed, so you are only asked once. It never reaches our servers and identifies nobody. | When you answer the cookie banner | Until you clear your browser data |
mmc_admincookie | Signs shop staff in to the back office. It is never set for customers. | Only when a member of staff signs in | 7 days |
Two of these are kept in your browser's own storage rather than as cookies. They are not sent with every request the way a cookie is, but they are still something stored on your device, so they are listed here.
Set by others, only if you accept
These are set by the companies named, not by us, and only once you have allowed the category they sit in. We never send them your name, email, phone number or delivery address.
- Analytics — Counts visits and shows us which pages people actually use. Never used to advertise to you.
- Advertising — Lets us measure whether our ads work. These companies may combine it with what they already know about you.
Google Analytics
_ga— Tells returning visits apart from new ones. Lasts 13 months._ga_<id>— Keeps the state of your visit for this site. Lasts 13 months.
Google Analytics may set further cookies of their own without telling us — their cookie policy is the authority on those.
Meta (Facebook)
fr— Used by Meta to measure and target advertising. Lasts 90 days._fbp— Identifies a browser to Meta for advertising measurement. Lasts 90 days.
Meta (Facebook) may set further cookies of their own without telling us — their cookie policy is the authority on those.
Saying no, or changing your mind
The banner appears on your first visit and offers Reject all as plainly as it offers Accept — one button, same place, no extra screen to go through. Rejecting means none of the cookies in the previous table are ever set: nothing is loaded, so there is nothing to opt out of afterwards. Ignoring the banner counts as rejecting it.
Manage lets you answer each category on its own, so you can allow us to count visits without agreeing to advertising.
Changing your answer later takes one click: sits in the footer of every page and reopens the same panel. Turning something off stops it from loading on your next page view; cookies already set are deleted by clearing this site's data in your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The functional ones in the first table are the only ones the site needs; blocking them means your cart and chat will not be remembered, but you can still browse and order.
